Don't know how to pick out the perfect melon? Quality is never an issue at this local gem, but the lovely staff is always courteous and willing to answer any fruit or vegetable questions you come up with. Like, is a tomato a vegetable or a fruit? At Johnny D's, the right answer is always "delicious."

Good stuff, and inexpensive! Their small cup of ice cream is pretty generous, enough to fill two standard cones. It's a family run place with 2 brothers (Mac and Nick) working the counter. Mac is there most days and is friendly and helpful when sampling flavors. Nick is the shy one. The chocolate pudding ice cream is great, as well as the oreo. Special flavors like Jalapeno keep things interesting. Very clean, almost too clean. Locals suspect that the place is just a front for an ice cream mafia, but that's just part of the mystique.
