Well known and loved for its no frills, cafeteria-style dining and delicious array of sandwiches and hot entrees, Jim's Deli & Restaurant on Washington Street in Brighton is a legend among local diners who seek neighborhood comfort food.
In fact, Jim's Deli & Restaurant has been featured on Phantom Gourmet and Sunday's with Liz Walker as a "hidden jewel" known for its "no frills, no fuss, no problem" appeal.
The menu is vast and the portions enormous: come hungry and bring friends to best enjoy the convivial, home-grown atmosphere that truly earns this establishment its beloved reputation. On weekends, come early to avoid the late breakfast rush. At 10 a.m., the line gets long and the seating is scarce, but the food is worth the (surprisingly quick) brunch-hour wait times.
The enormous menu covers not only all breakfast foods (including mouth watering omelettes, $5.95), but also many types of sandwiches (all large and fresh and priced near $7 with fries)and plates of pasta and vegetable options. It's not fancy and it's not a linger-and-soak-in-the-ambience type of place, but that's the point. And that's why it's great.
Click here the lowdown from Phantom Gourmet on Jim's Deli & Restaurant and here for the complete menu. During weekdays, Jim's Deli & Restaurant offers fast, free delivery Mon-Fri 11:30am-8:30pm.

It's fast, it's tasty, and it delivers: in a college town, these are the factors that set Pizza King apart from other joints. And though it's named for the pizza, it's the subs here which are truly outstanding. Not only are they affordable--a large, which should be named emormous, runs between %5.50 and $7--but they are some of the best in the area. The Milano (pesto on grilled chicken, bacon, and fresh mozzarella cheese, &7.00 for a large) is not to be missed, and the Buffalo Chicken Sub ($6.50 for a large) is a perfectly spiced old favorite. A large pizza starts at $8.99 for cheese, and there are dozens of toppings available. Standard appetizers--wings, ribs, and tips, $6.50 and up--are also available and taste great.
